It's Christmas, time to all hang out with the people closest to you. Often, holidays mean spending a lot of time with your family. All families are different. And they ALL come with challenges. It may be a drunk uncle who doesn't care what anyone thinks, or strict parents who just don't understand. Whatever the situation, here are some ways to make it through the holidays:
- Get involved. More people are around, which means more food to be cooked and more dishes to be washed. Do your part to help out before being asked.
- Be nice. Lots of people in one space can lead to fights instead of fits of laughter. Make sure that you are a part of the problem-solving rather than the problem-starting.
- Be grateful for the family you do have. Even if they drive you mad, they are yours!
- Enjoy yourself. This time of year comes along just once. Use this time to reconnect with family and relax. Have fun and make great memories that will last you until this time next year.
Family and the people you love are important. Make sure that you treat them with respect and show them how you feel. What is your family style over holidays?
